Limbal Relaxing Incision (LRI)
This procedure can be combined with regular cataract surgery in people with low
to moderate astigmatism. It is not an insured service under MCP and patients can
billed for it if they request it be done at the time of their cataract surgery.
LRI consist of tiny incisions in the cornea in the corneal segments that are
causing the astigmatism. LRI can even be performed after cataract surgery at the
slit lamp.
